“A girl named George?” And so said I just before I was introduced to her during my tour of Buena Vista Pictures Distribution’s Western division office. Her warmth and humour immediately shone through as she was actively hauling boxes and organizing a new supply of in-theatre marketing materials. And that is quintessential George—she figures out what needs to be done and then gets right down to business—and isn’t shy about getting right into the thick of things.
When George was transferred shortly thereafter to BVPD’s home office (where I was working), we quickly became partners in crime. My fondest memories of my first years at Disney are of all the work and laughter shared in her office. I admire George for her fearlessness, loyalty, intelligence, and spirit. In the five years that we’ve known one another, she has come to be like my big sister.
George lives in Manhattan Beach, California, with her husband Charlie, two beautiful children (Brett and Elise), their dog Copper and cat Figaro. She works as a Manager of Special Events for the Los Angeles Times. Because of her sense of adventure and resulting experience, she is an expert in where to find anything you need in Los Angeles (and beyond).
